Why choose such a platform?

Apache, the HTTP server, has been developed since 1995 and can be deployed on a number of platforms (including Windows). Apache is used by over 70% of the websites, far ahead of solutions like Microsoft IIS which represents only 25%. It is built around a modular structure allowing an optimal configuration of Web servers.

PHP, the object-oriented applications server, is developed since the early 90's, but it was in 1998, with its version 3, that it took off. More than 40% of the servers now use PHP (the first module on Apache servers). PHP is now part of the Apache Software Foundation, on the one hand because Apache and PHP are complementary, on the other hand thanks to their architectural similarity.
